Born in Randwijk, Netherlands (1995)

Being raised in a secluded village in the east of the Netherlands, the quietness I always remember.

Given my family’s protestant heritage, looking after another and taking care of the earth became important principles within my life.
As I have been surrounded by nature it became a natural fascination to be outside and actively explore. When I was younger my family and I used to visit the Alps in Switzerland every year. I now realise that impact the mountains left on me, planted a seed that would eventually sprout into my fascination with photography.

I never had the tendency to stay Randwijk, though when I left, I became conscious of the impact this place and the experience had made on me. Through my photography I look inward, on how environments and nature relate towards us, our memories and our behaviour. From an atmospherical and poetic perspective I try to engage and influence the way we perceive our surroundings.

I cherish to investigate and explore though photography how we can look after another, by identifying the landscape we live in.
